Promoting Turkish Golf in the World

The climate favours the practice of this sport in Turkey. The golf season in Antalya extends from October till May, while Istanbul golf courses offer rounds throughout almost the whole year except three weeks in winter.

Although it is one of the youngest federations of EGA, TGF consistently improves its activities to take more part in international events. The success level of Turkish teams participating in EGA championships increase almost in all categories and this is also an important incentive for the new players.

Besides these, TGF succeeded in organising an international event in the EGA agenda: "European Mid Amateur Men's Championship" in as early as 2001.

Encouraged with the achievement of this event, Turkish Federation started "Turkish Open" in 2002 as an annual international contest. This year the third "Turkish Open" will be held in Istanbul.

TGF hosted another EGA championship, "European Club Cup Trophy" in 2003 and will organise it again, next year.
